Wheel Bowl 2
Shawlow bowl.
Choice Project
For my choice project I chose to do a free hand sculpture that fits my theme of spooky. It is three skulls sitting one on top the other, each one getting smaller as they stack up. In that pattern it gives the project rhythm and movement. It’s a rather whimsical piece, which I wanted because not everything that is “spooky” is always scary. This sculpture if felled with negative and positive space, for example. The eyes are negative space, but it helps create positive space for the brow bone. For the glaze on this project I bled in black stain into the cracks of it with a clear glaze allover, because the color of the bisque clay is a close color of bone; therefore it worked out perfectly.
Efolio: This is a free hand project, its three skulls stacked up on each other. For these kind of project you need the same basic steps but you have to think how you’re going to be approaching the project, with this one I started by creating each of the three skulls then letting them dry slightly over night and then slip and score them together. After that it dried till it was bone hard then it went into the bisque got a clear glaze and was done.

Hard-Slab Project
This is a box, it is hard-slab project, it has 4side; each side represents a different element of the earth. Earth, water, wind, and fire. For the water I carved in waves and used the dark blue stain. Air is swirls to show the movement and freedom of the air/wind, I also used the blue satin for this side. Earth is shown threw a flower surrounded by vines and leafs carved, it has a cherry red and green stain. Fire is such a complex element that I wanted to show some simplicity in it so; I carved a small simple flame like swirl in it so it looks like fire. It’s also has an allover clear glaze. I used the unity of the four elements it create a calming piece.
Efolio: This elements box, is what they call a hard-slab project, like before is this same basic starting steps with gathering supply’s and what not. But once you got all your stuff together, it takes rolling out the clay; then cutting the panels to size. I let them slightly dry overnight so they’ll be firm for the next day, when I can slip and score them together. For this box, I cared out a design on each outside panel that represented an element (you need to plan ahead and get the right tools). After that you get it in the bisque, glazed and you have what should be a box of some sort.

Wheel Bowl 1
This is wheel altered bowl,
Eloilo: Summers Daylight, is what I named this wheel altered bowl, it is most defiantly my favorite project I have done this year or freshmen year. It’s just your basic bowl but I need a wheel altered project for class so once I was done throwing thing I decided to bend it four points, so now it has a circular and a square edge to it. My reasoning for calling it Summer Daylight is because the blue represents the summer sky, the yellow represents the sun and the circular of the bowls corners represents the breeze the runs thru our fingers in the summer.

Coil pot
This is a coil pot, with and odd star shaped base, it has two different types of circles (or dots) and coils. It has a flowing shape at the bottom that turns in to your traditional round coil pot at the top of it. This two very different shaped are brought together by those circles, which makes it flow very easily. The pot is dipped in half Sky Blue; the other half is dipped in black glaze. With a sponge off and a clear glaze over that making it look like an anchent artifact.
